Elegy

Lady Spring, pressed pregnant by pollination
Orphaned the infant petals from her muddy belly
Into the ample arms of steely-eyed winter
The hands of Fate played crochet with the princely petals
And poised the lovelies on twin lilies.

The bearded dragon puffed the petals into
martyrs- to a malice not native.

Bathed was the Dove, in soot.
The rose is not a rose and not a rose evermore.
As the clown shuns his white gloves for black,
May the dove shed her black coat for white.

Afternoon Amongst Others

His mind speaks
Clear and resonant but
the words travel through his nose
And strike every right one opposite
harsh, sped-up, irrelevant -
The misplacement on his face  shan't help
overlook the effect of the prior attack
the contortion, the eyes twisting into the
most horrible double helix seen, certainly
incapable of reflecting any sadness

What about the lot?

Time tells

The rectangular room opened
Into the murk of cosmic nothingness
and in her stood slain a king
sawn across two beds
on which splay a fawn
away from her mother by a mere three-feet.

She shall walk, over a score of years,
along the horizontal of axial time
extending at the foot
of her bed to lay on the other
becoming her mother.

Stage actors

Eyes slanted steep
Cheeks cut at bones (sharp)
The perfect silhouette to stage
all of tragedy
at the mouth channeling a gaped clown
the torso set to sigh, sit down and unlearn.

From the window

The sun tries on a pastel coat
The sea spills in watercolours
Her rustic anchors in sanguine

The dawn addresses the day
The wind splish-splashes on waves
Footsteps form rhythms

Is happiness from within?
Is happiness from without?
It's happiness always on the avenue

Black-Eyed and Blue

I am a Pea

Fresh, smooth and
Gee-

You are one
too. Sat in a

prepped pod, us two.
Found

Your carrots, left-
You. And

I dried.

Destruction

With the tide for His axe
And the wind His cleaver
Death shall ride rife,
A heathen set to devour.
The light will smother
And eight minutes further
So shall We-
Poofing off the 360-degree.
